Bambi's Story, continued........

Bambi and two volunteers drove to Leesburg, VA on 6-29-09 for her cardiac evaluation. She was so good. She napped the whole way there. After a weigh-in of 3.25 pounds, the doctor gave her a good examination and echocardiogram. She was trying so hard to be still for the EKG. It is hard not to squirm! The doctor said she has a PDA (patent ductus arteriosis). The good news is, it can be corrected with surgery! (Yeah!!!!) This is when the volunteers began to breathe again. The concerning news is, the surgery will cost approximately $3500.00. Bambi will need to have a blood chemistry done along with various other tests to prepare her for her upcoming surgery. She will then need a repeat EKG to make sure everything is going as planned. No wonder she slept the whole way home in the car, too. This is a lot for a 4 month old puppy. Please pray for Bambi's health and, if you can, please "Chip In" to help with her vetting expenses. Any little bit makes a BIG difference.

Oreo Oreo's Story

Oreo was rescued from a puppy mill along with Bambi. Oreo is also 4 months old. Oreo is a purebred Shih Tzu who is looking for a calm, quiet foster home of her own. She has water on the brain so will need gentle touches and loving arms. We will know more about Oreo's health as she grows. Please also pray for her health and please "Chip In" for her medical bills if you can.

Who We Are

Angel Hill is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, no kill animal sanctuary located in the country outside of Chambersburg, Pa. We have been in business for 10 years. We are 501C. Our mission is to take animals of the elderly and the disabled who no longer can care for them. We do bring in rescued animals when space is available and ensure they are all spayed or neutered before they are adopted into loving homes. We do ask for funding if their is any available for the care of the animals. We do not turn anyone down due to lack of funds. We are however limited to space.

Trooper is two years old now and doing very well. Poor little Trooper still has no idea that he is disabled, he thinks he is like all the other dogs that he is running and playing with.
